2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima, and Rogue Earn High Honors in Safety Tests

Nissan strives to make sure you stay safe on the road. The efforts are clear in the various safety features that are available to many Nissan models.

But some of the Japanese automaker's labors earned some special attention from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

More specifically, three 2017 Nissan models (the Altima, Maxima, and Rogue) earned the very high honor of being named 2017 TOP SAFETY PICK+ models by the IIHS.

Why does that make these three models special?

To earn the title of TOP SAFETY PICK+, a vehicle has to earn exceptionally high scores in IIHS safety tests. These range from how well a vehicle's headlights illuminate the road to how a vehicle stands up to several different kinds of vicious collisions.

If a vehicle is rated highly in headlight effectiveness, passenger protection in a collision, and front crash prevention, only then does it earn the right to the IIHS's top safety rating.

Take a TOP SAFETY PICK+ model for a test spin and learn more about safety ratings when you visit our showroom in Lufkin, TX today!
